Kittle House Restaurant
◊ Lunch: Monday – Friday 12:00 p.m – 2:30 p.m.
◊ Dinner: Monday – Thursday 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
◊ Friday – Saturday 5:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
◊ Sunday 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
◊ Sunday Brunch: 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
In its history that spans more than 200 years, the Kittle House’s timber frame has held many things: a guesthouse, prohibition-era roadhouse, school, inn, and restaurant. The stately Kittle House began humbly in 1790 as a barn on Ivy Hill Farm. The Kittle family named the eponymous barn in the 1880s, when they took over the farm and renamed the future restaurant and inn The Kittle Barn and Carriage House. In 1890, Moses Taylor V purchased the farm and surrounding 500 acres to raise his prize cattle, renaming it Annandale Farm. Following Taylor’s death in 1928, the Kittle House began to develop its livelier reputation as a roadhouse. In 1931 the Kittle House took on a primmer role as the Noble School for Girls. Unsuccessful, the school closed after five years, and thus the Kittle House tradition as a restaurant and inn began.
Lawrence Farms EastIn 1931 The Kittle House thrived as The Lawrence Farms Inn. The Westchester Playhouse, located on the adjacent property of what is now the Mt. Kisco Country Club, was in its prime. The birthplace of many illustrious careers, the Inn often played host to famous, and soon-to-be-famous, actors, including a young Henry Fonda, Margaret Sullavan and Talullah Bankhead. In 1949 the Inn was sold to William Carlson, who shortened the name to “The Kittle House.”
Since 1981, the Kittle House has been owned and operated by the Crabtree family, who has returned the House to its former glory through extensive renovations and enhancements, including the beautification of the grounds, the expansion of the Atrium Dining Room, and the transformation of the former stables into an award-winning wine cellar. The most recent and exciting changes at Crabtree’s Kittle House include a striking redesign by Christan P. Arkay-Leliever of KMS Team. With a mindful use of ecological materials and thoughtful attention to detail, the House exudes a quiet elegance, befitting its charmed past.

RiverMarket Bar and Kitchen proudly represents the farmers and producers located throughout the Hudson River Valley and beyond who are raising and growing their products naturally, sustainably and humanely. We are inspired by the passion and commitment of these artisan producers and look to present these wonderful products on both the menu and in the fresh market in a style that will highlight their unparalleled quality.
RiverMarket Bar and Kitchen’s interior design reflects this philosophy as well and features many beautiful reclaimed wood touches from the Hudson Valley, including a 200 year old maple floor; a cypress and hemlock ‘mushroom wood’ ceiling; and rustic, 150 year old cedar barn siding. Another beautiful repurposed wood design element is the use of twenty-five 200 year old antique doors procured from an antique collector in Belgium that can slide together to separate the private dining room from the restaurant. The custom designed copper beer tower, the centerpiece of the large rectangular bar, offers 12 locally made draft beers and two wines on tap – currently an estate Riesling from the Finger Lakes Region and a naturally-made Mourvèdre from a winery located in Berkeley, California. RiverMarket Wine and Spirits, located right next door, continues the naturally-raised philosophy by focusing on wineries and winemakers from around the world who are growing grapes and making wines sustainably, organically and, in many cases, following the methods of biodynamic farming and winemaking. Locally produced world-class artisanal spirits are highlighted among many other wonderful, small batch liquors from around the world. RiverMarket Wine and Spirits is home to 250 antique apple crates, purchased from an apple farm in rural Pennsylvania, now reused as the shelving for the wine and spirits display. Used oak flavor sticks, purchased in Napa Valley, add a reflective detail to the floor and ceiling of the wine and spirits shop. Whether dining in, taking out or taking home from the market, RiverMarket Bar and Kitchen is a one stop gourmet convenience for locally, naturally raised and grown, artisanally produced and crafted food, beer, wine and spirits.

A lodge, by definition, is a “meeting or dwelling place” to foster gathering and community. As such, Tarry Lodge has served as the go-to spot for Port Chester’s friends and neighbors since it was built over 100 years ago. 18 Mill Street has had as many lives as a cat—once a speakeasy, then a dive bar, then a family restaurant. In every incarnation, it has been a place for locals and travelers to meet. This latest iteration combines the welcoming of its predecessors with Mario Batali’s take on Italian Italian comfort food.
Opened in the fall of 2008, Tarry Lodge is the brainchild of Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, Executive Chef Andy Nusser and General Manager Nancy Selzer. An Italian trattoria designed to provide a casual environment for any gathering of friends, business associates or family. In the word’s of GQ’s Alan Richman, Tarry Lodge, has “enough comfort and entirely enough class to make it one of the most satisfying dining options in Westchester County.”
Tarry Lodge is here to serve Westchester and Connecticut communities — and nomadic gastrotourists– in the inimitable style of Babbo, Lupa, and Del Posto. The Batali and Bastianich team of highly polished professionals is in a suburban setting for the first time to serve their hungry clientele… perhaps just a little bit closer to home.

Discover Inspired Foods of the Americas
With a focus on the seasons and products of the Hudson Valley, contemporary and traditional regional dishes are brought to life at the American Bounty Restaurant in an honest and flavorful way. Rounded out with a first-class American wine list and comfortable warm service, this casually elegant restaurant sets the stage for an unparalleled dining experience in New York’s Hudson Valley.
Celebrating uniquely American cuisine was the inspiration behind The Culinary Institute of America’s decision to create the American Bounty Restaurant. In 1983, the opening team, headed by now-President Tim Ryan ’77, believed that American food could be as fresh, inventive, and regionally based as its much-touted French counterpart. They set about researching American food traditions and ingredients, and developing new dishes that elevated the cuisine. The team succeeded in creating a unique dining experience for its patrons. While the restaurant has evolved over the last 30 years, it has always remained true to the tenets that American cuisine is worthy of exploration and exquisite preparation.
Being situated in the Hudson Valley gives American Bounty a distinct advantage. Once considered the nation’s “breadbasket,” today this area of the country is experiencing a resurgence of respect for its farmers, artisan bakers, and vintners. In a bucolic setting high above the Hudson River, the American Bounty Restaurant pays homage to the Valley’s past and present by celebrating regional, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients. The restaurant’s menu reflects a growing interest in the origins of our food, clean flavors, and the special joys of the table.
